Some of you may remember that last year I asked some of my favourite book bloggers to name the best book they read and reviewed in 2011. I then published their responses in a four-part feature (see here, here, here and here). It was such a fun exercise that I decided to do it again for 2012.
There were no rules applied other than the book — which could be published in any year and could be fiction or non-fiction — had to have been reviewed on his or her blog during the past year.
In contrast to all those "best of" lists that are cropping up all over the mainstream press right now, this "list" highlights books, old and new alike, that may normally fall under the radar. I hope they give you some reading leads or ideas for Christmas gifts.
The books have been arranged in no particular order. If you hover your mouse over each image you will see who chose the book. Click on an image and it will take you directly to the relevant review in a new window.
I hope you have fun exploring everyone's choices and I'd encourage you to leave comments on relevant blogs. Are there any here you have read and enjoyed? Any surprise titles you've never heard of?
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for more book of the year suggestions as nominated by book bloggers.
