Does anyone else do this?
Find excuses for buying yourself a book.
I received some good news about my health yesterday (I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis 14 months ago and it seems to be largely under control after trying various medications, which means I don't have to go back to see my rheumatologist until this time next year) and the first thing that popped into my head was not woo-hoo, that's great, maybe you'll be able to start riding your bike again. It was, woo-hoo, I reckon you deserve a new book for that!
So what did I do? I scampered around to Riverside Books, near London Bridge Hospital, and treated myself to Robin Jenkins' The Changeling.
As if I need an excuse to buy more books!
What kind of excuses do you use? Or do you just not bother with justifying your purchases? Do share!
