I've got a busy weekend planned, so I thought I'd post this photograph, which I took back in 2005 on a trip to the west coast of Ireland to get you in the mood for a terrific short story I'm going to point you towards.
I chose this picture because it was taken on the Belmullet Peninsula, in County Mayo, which is name-checked in Kevin Barry's Fjord of Killary, a rather delicious, occasionally dark, often humourous, story published in the New Yorker earlier this month.
