The Guardian is offering a "free" copy of David Peace's 1974 (the first in his Red Riding quartert). You simply pay £2.25 postage. The other three books have been heavily discounted, too.
It has a similiar offer for Charles Darwin's Origin of the Species and Voyage of the Beagle. You simply pay £3.99 postage and both books are yours free. A series of other books about explorers, including Captain James Cook, Christopher Columbus and Shackleton, are also available for £4.95 each.
If you have a Twitter account you might want to start following Joe the Publicist, who works at Penguin Books, as he is giving away 10 copies of God's Own Country by Ross Raisin and posters of Ian Sinclair's new book on Wednesday March 11.
