Salley Vickers -- my new favourite author (I fell in love with Miss Garnet's Angel) -- has written an exclusive short story for The Observer called Mrs Radinsky.
Ruth Rendell has written a fascinating piece about growing old -- at 76 she still gets marriage proposals -- called Old, yes. Tired, a bit. Still, rarely, which is published on The Age website. (She looks amazing for her age in the photograph that accompanies the piece.)
The Times Online has republished Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Christmas mystery The Blue Carbuncle, one of 56 short stories featuring Sherlock Holmes. (This one was first published in 1892.)
The Times Online also has an impossibly difficult book quiz, for which the winner will receive a £500 Waterstone's voucher.
And, finally, The Guardian Book Blog has a literary teaser, the first of many it promises to publish over the next week. (I love the first comment!)
