You may remember that we went to Cornwall last February, spending a week in a little cottage in Boscastle away from the hustle and bustle of ye old London town.
On our long drive back home we took a small diversion, and visited Dartmoor, a National Park in the centre of Devon. This wild, windswept moorland was a feast for the eyes -- so much open space and gorgeous, rugged scenery with barely a tree to be seen.
It was a beautiful winter's day, so we went for a short walk along the valley of the West Dart River, near Two Bridges, and followed a rather muddy trail that led to Wistman's Wood. I took this snap about half way along the path. I have a soft spot for stone walls, maybe because they simply don't exist in Australia, and thinking about it I wouldn't be surprised if this "fence" is actually older than my homeland...
