Biography

Kimbofo is a 30-something expat Australian, who has been based in London since 1998. She has lived with her partner, an Irishman called T, for 8 years.

She has a first-class honours degree in Planning and Design from the University of Melbourne, which basically means she knows a little bit about trees, the greenhouse effect, landscape architecture, urban design, town planning and environmental policy, although she graduated so long ago she barely remembers any of it!

She also has a Master of Journalism from the University of Queensland, which was much more productive vocation wise, although any dreams of becoming a star reporter on "Rolling Stone" never came to fruition!

She got her start as a humble news reporter/photographer on rural newspapers in Victoria, Australia, before moving to the UK, where she has worked on business-to-business publications and consumer magazines. She has been a senior news reporter, sub-editor, production editor, managing editor and deputy editor. She is currently editor of a specialist weekly newspaper.

Kimbofo currently maintains three blogs (yep, she doesn't have a life). These are:

READING MATTERS, a blog dedicated to books and all things book-related.

LONDON CYCLING DIARY, a blog dedicated to the joys of commuting to work on the back of a bicycle.

KIMBOFO (v3.0), a generalist blog showcasing photographs and day-to-day anecdotes.

The name kimbofo is an extension of kimbofo's first name and the first two letters of her last name -- Americans never seem to understand this yet Aussies and Brits get it immediately. Go figure.

You can contact kimbofo via the email address above. Stalkers -- and anyone who hates cyclists -- need not apply.
